FINE DIMINUTIVE SCRIMSHAWED TOOTH. Circa 1813. This small two sided example depicting two Native American figures, with horses, one horse and rider standing and second individual and horse positioned on the ground. Reverse showing a displayed eagle with 16 star American flag, a banner clutched in his beak engraved “FLAG OF OUR US” beneath a rayed sun with face. The polished base of the tooth with the incised initials “JJ” over the date “1813”. SIZE: Ht 3″ CONDITION: Very good original condition with nice color and patina. 9-96978 (1,000-1,500)
