PELICAN BANK WITH MAMMY. Manufactured by Trenton Lock & Hardware Co. This fairly scarce bank is in the shape of a full-figured pelican standing on a beach. When coin is pressed into slot on top of pelican’s head, his mouth opens and surprises an unsuspecting depositor by exposing a human figure – in this case, a mammy. This bank was also sold with one of four other figures in the pelican’s mouth. A “From the Collection of Edwin H. Mosler, Jr.” sticker is on underside of bank. SIZE: 8″ h. CONDITION: Bank is in pristine condition. Very minor wear to mammy’s head. 1-9902 (1,200-2,000)
