MILLS 3-REEL PURITAN TRADE STIMULATOR. Unusual in the fact that this style of this machine is usually only found in cast iron. It must have been at this point in time for economic reasons they were switching to aluminum and pot metal castings. The later versions normally found have a completely different coin entry system and do not have the mirror attachment on the top of the front casting. These machines were relatively inexpensive, but garnered great returns for the operator. Referring to the award card on the lower front casting a certain series of numbers were winners and awards paid out accordingly. The mirror above allowed the operator behind the counter to see the winning numbers and a cash drop door behind the machine allowed the operator to drop exposed coins into cash box, thus not allowing a player to claim winning dishonestly. Castings are quite elaborate and this is a visually attractive machine. Machine is in functional condition and all castings appear to be original. Reel strips are intact and original.
