FINE BARBER POLE TRADE SIGN. Third quarter 19th century, American. Nicely carved and turned example in pine. The tapering shaft with stepped molding, flared collar, headed by a compressed ball and knob-turned finial, the base with flare-collar above double-turned discs in original red, white and blue paint. Now fitted with museum wall mount bracket. SIZE: 32″ l. CONDITION: Painted surfaces as stated now crusty and alligatored, with minor age appropriate abrasions and paint loss, in very good original untouched condition. 9-29173 (1,200-1,800)
