FINE EARLY EUROPEAN TIN CLOCKWORK CAROUSEL. Turn of the Century, this extremely delicate toy consists of horses with riders and gondolas with passengers. With dual flags (replacements) atop a cloth canopy protecting the passengers from the elements. When wound, the carousel propels in a counterclockwise fashion, giving a joyous ride to those on board. Listed in “Golden Age of Toys” by Remise, pg 95. SIZE: 14″ t. CONDITION: Overall paint is very good with some significant flaking to various horses and riders. Clockwork mechanism appears to have been repaired at some point in time. 1-7205 JL (1,000-2,000)
