PAIR OF CLASSICAL EMPIRE DORE BRONZE TAZZAS. 1st quarter 19th century. Of classical form. Each tazza modeled after the image of a Greek sphinx emitting a foliate column joined to a clear glass shallow bowl, gilt decorated overall with grapevines and fastened with a floral rosette. The tazza is mounted on a square molded plinth raised on paw feet with Capitals terminating in leaf tips. SIZE: 9-1/2″ h x 8-1/2″ dia of shallow bowl. CONDITION: Very fine overall with original gilding on shallow bowls, bases are professionally regilded. 9-23477 (4,000-5,000)
