25 CENT MILLS POINSETTIA SLOT MACHINE. A classic Mills slot machine from the 1920s featuring poinsettia flowers emblazoned on the aluminum casting along with a jackpot. Pinstriped wooden sides and wooden base, machine is in original finish except back door, coin box, and metal slide behind goose neck, which are quality replacements. Machine retains its original tin reel strips and only used on this particular machine is the lemon “free play” bonus. If one were to hit the lemon free play on the first reel, the player could pull the handle again without having to deposit another quarter. An enticing gimmick that made the player feel he wasn’t a loser. Included with this lot is a nickel plated fanciful stand of more recent vintage (approximately 30″ h) that the machine sits upon.
