WATLING 5 CENT “COLOR WHEEL” BROWNIE. A classic gambling machine and perhaps one of the last of the color wheel series produced by any company. The concept being placing a bet on the various colors with corresponding various payouts, depending on the number of color slots on the tin lithographed wheel. Payouts range from 2:1 to 20:1 to the jackpot. This gambling device from the first quarter of the 20th century is encased in an oak cabinet with nickel plated iron trims. Always a winner if all coin slots are played. This type of machine eventually became obsolete, and the more successful for the operator were replaced with the classic three reeled one arm bandits. A very nice restored example and a fine addition to one’s coin-op collection and/or game room. SIZE: 15″ w x 26″ h x 10″ d. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus. Paneled wooden back door as well as wooden base appear to be quality replacements. 1-12430 (3,750-4,750) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
