LOUIS XVI STYLE CARVED BEECH CANAPE. 2nd quarter 20th century. The curved back with arched crest rail continuing to down-sloping conforming arms, terminating in scrolled acanthus-carved scrolled hand grips on incurved foliate carved supports, the seat rail with central bow-tied ribbon flanked by scrolling leaftips, raised on molded cabriole legs terminating in snail feet. The frame overupholstered in red velvet, additionally with a red velvet seat cushion. SIZE: 32″ h. of back x 54″ l. PROVENANCE: From a large Boston, MA area Estate.
