FRENCH INLAID MAHOGANY DRESSING TABLE. First half of the 20th Century. Bench made in the Directoire style. The rectangular shaped beveled mirror beneath a large oval inlaid patera surmounted by a molded arched cornice and flanked by scrolling gilt metal candle arms. Joined to a raised inlaid glove box fitted with a pair of aligned short drawers further joined to the kidney shaped base with swelled sides centering a single drawer raised on four tapering cylindrical legs joined at the base by curule shaped stretchers. The whole inlaid with rosewood and mahogany cross banding. SIZE: 76″ h x 53″ w x 20″ d.
