G & K TAXI & STRAUSS TAXI. 1) Of German manufacture, this litho yellow cab depicts the taxis that were commonly found in the big cities in the U.S. Opening rear doors, luggage rack and a driver that would take you wherever you needed to go. Tin disc wheels with simulated white rubber tires and fine lithography make this attractive automotive toy from the 1920s. 2) Produced in America by Ferdinand Strauss Corp. this litho tin toy also depicts the taxis that roamed the big cities. Not as elaborate as the previous model, this toy has a spring mechanism and a driver also anxious to pick up those in need of transportation. SIZE: Both are approx. 7-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Overall the condition of both taxis are good to very good. Mechanisms are in functional condition. 1-10508-1 (800-1,200)
