EXCEEDINGLY RARE ONE GAUGE MARKLIN SUSPENSION BRIDGE. This is an exemplary bridge from the early 20th century by the famed German toymaker Marklin. In as found, untouched original finish this toy came from a Rhode Island estate. Beautiful simulated stone work on the upright pillars with a plethora of fanciful trims such as the shields and the intricate wire suspension span. Fine filigree throughout, simulated grass mounds on the ramps along with the 4 figures that adorn the entrance pillars. One could only imagine traveling through Europe and driving by this ornately styled bridge. The Marklin firm always used real life models and duplicated them in miniature form. It is easy to comprehend why Marklin toys are so highly regarded and sought after by collectors today. SIZE: Approximately 83″ in length. CONDITION: Overall fair to good original paint finish. The bridge itself is structurally sound and complete other than some missing flags to top of pillars.
