LEHMANN HALLOH MOTORCYCLE W/ORIGINAL BOX. The Halloh’s first designs were patented around 1908. Housed in the frame is its ingenious spinning gyroscope, allowing for stability. This permits the cycle to propel itself on two wheels. This toy has great appeal, not only to the toy collector but also to the motorcycle enthusiast. The combination of the blue lithographed bike and the hand-painted rider (earlier version) give it a very charming look. This particular toy was found on the shelf of an old country store in the Allentown, Pennsylvania, area. Toy is accompanied by very scarce original box with a great lithographed label of the cycle being driven around a racetrack. Also has original paper instructions, with label on side of box from G.A. Schwarz of Philadelphia. SIZE: 9″ l. CONDITION: Toy has minimal chipping to wheels, a few chips to rider’s hat and a couple of minor rubs to left-hand side of bike. Still one of the nicest cycles that have come to auction in a long time. Overall, figure and lithograph very fine to near mint condition, with some minimal chipping to wheels. Box is excellent plus to near mint, with part of one side flap missing. 1-10288 (3,500-5,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
