SCARCE LEHMANN POSTAL VAN W/ORIGINAL BOX. The mail van is one of the most elusive of all the Lehmann vehicles. It has the lithography of the Deutsche Reichpost, which features the German eagle and swastika, indicating that it was made when Hitler was in power during the 1930’s. This van was also sold without the swastika. It has a driver with blue lithographed uniform, two rear-opening doors, a roof-rack, and a coil spring for propulsion. Rear of truck is a vibrant red; however, the sides with time have a lighter and more mellow coloring. Box with brightly lithographed paper label shows a scene of the van riding through a city neighborhood. The scarcity of the van with its original box would make this toy a coveted prize for any collection. SIZE: 7-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Van is in virtually unplayed-with condition. Lithography is near mint. This could possibly be one of the nicest examples found. Box also shows very little aging. 1-10286 (4,500-6,500)
