HANSEL & GRETEL DUTCH BISCUIT TIN. A finely lithographed biscuit tin depicting Hansel & Gretel at a cottage with the witch coming out the side door. The biscuit tin, unusual in that it has a locking mechanism, but is elaborately lithographed with biscuits adorning the side of the cottage itself. When opening tin, the inside of roof has Dutch writing, likely the maker of the biscuits. Usually one associates biscuit tins with the English market as they produced a prolific amount of such tins. Highly unusual to find a Dutch example, especially one that is so captivating. SIZE: 10-1/2″ w x 8″ h x 6-1/2″ d.
