FEDERAL CONVEX MIRROR WITH EAGLE. Circa 1810. Circular convex mirror plate within an ebony reeded slip further within a concave molded frame. Ribbon tied on each quadrant. Surrmounted by a displayed eagle on a rockwork base. Flanked by scrolling leaf tips. Also mounted with a pendant leaf tip apron. SIZE: Overall 53-1/2″ h x 30-1/2″ dia of frame. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: Mirror plate original, backboard is original as are crest and apron. Gilded surfaces are dried and peeling with substantial losses. Good overall. 9-23533 (1,500-3,000)
