CAST IRON MECHANICAL FOOTBALL PLAYER TOY. A fun toy of unknown manufacture, most likely from the 1920s, depicting a football player kicking the rubber football across the parlor. The figure itself, reminiscent of Jim Thorpe is enameled in a red and mustard outfit. When leg is pulled back one would place the rubber football on its adjustable tee and by depressing the lever the football by means of a string, would be launched skyward, perhaps heading towards the goal post for a touchdown. In very fine original condition with its original football which is virtually never accompanying this toy! SIZE: 8″ h. CONDITION: As stated above. 1-13364 (250-400)
