TWO EARLY MOHAIR BEARS. 1) Larger, although lacking button in left ear is a Steiff with so-called “shoe button” eyes, black stitched nose, mouth and claws. Long curved arms with hump on back, original felt paw pads, covered in beige mohair. 2) Smaller is of unknown origin with swivel neck, long arms, so-called “shoe button” eyes, brown stitched mouth and claws with velvet covered paw pads and nose tip. SIZE: Steiff is 13” (33cm) t; other is 12-1/2” (32cm) t. CONDITION: Steiff bear is in overall good condition with some major loss to mohair on right upper leg, a few moth holes in several pads with a repair to the left front pad. The smaller bear has some minor mohair loss with material of nose in question as to originality. 1-10263 (1,500-2,000)
