OVERSIZED IVES HORSE DRAWN FIRE PUMPER. A few companies produced over sized fire vehicles including Ives, this particular toy is most likely from the 1910-1912 era. Ives only produced the over sized pumper and it was a fabulous incredibly detailed fire vehicle. The iron flanged wheels originally had rubber inserts, which presently are lacking. Enameled in an orange/red with gilt and silver trims the one horse is black enamel and the other is a darker caramel with white mane and tail. A most impressive toy as it makes a statement on its own. SIZE: 27″ l. CONDITION: Overall paint is original with some older enhancement to gold on boiler, aged amateurish repair behind boiler at rear platform. 1-13339 (1,500-2,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2013 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
