EARLY STEIFF MONKEY ON IRISH MAIL. Probably from the 1920s, this personable monkey dressed in red felt – perhaps the forerunner to Curious George – is pumping away furiously on his Irish mail cart. When toy is pulled/pushed along carpet, the monkey rocks back and forth while activating the bellows on which he is sitting. SIZE: 7-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Overall condition very good plus, lacking ear button, appears to have some restitching on shoulder and chest under chin. 1-10370 (400-800)
