LOUIS XVI STYLE DISPLAY CABINET. Late 19th century. The rectangular cabinet with serpentine door and bowed sides all with conforming glass panels. The case with pierced gilt metal gallery above a frieze with gilt metal mounts of scrolling vinery. The glass panels all with gilt metal foliate surrounds. The interior, velvet lined, with mirror back fitted with single glass shelf. Raised on slender cabriole legs joined to single medial shelf terminating in gilt metal sabots. The whole with a mahoganized finish. SIZE: 56″ h x 26-1/2″ w x 16-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: Very good overall with original surfaces.
