LOT OF 2 ORIGINAL THOMAS WORTH WATERCOLORS. Illustration artist who created artwork for the Currier & Ives series of lithographs. Humorous unframed illustrations showing people of color with exaggerated features. Included is a parade scene showing a black fireman leading a group of men alongside a float carrying a woman draped in American flags as townsfolk look on. Signed Thos Worth in lower left. Other image shows a decked out diva carrying a parasol in one hand and a pug dog in the other walking down the street while another well-to-do woman rides a donkey in the background. Titled in pencil “A Dude Belle of (South) 5th Avenue” and signed Tho Worth in lower left. SIZE: 9-1/2″ w x 12-1/2″ h and 10-1/4″ w x 14″ h, respectively. CONDITION: Overall good to very good.
