GOLD STEIFF BEAR. Adorable large pre-WWI Steiff bear (retains button in ear) with so-called “shoe button” eyes, stitched nose, mouth and claws, long curved arms and hump on back, with original pale felt paw pads. He has a forlorn look due to the peculiar stitching of the mouth and nose. SIZE: 20” (51cm) h. CONDITION: The mohair is especially good as there is very little loss, although slightly matted in certain areas. Although appearing to be more of a beige color, one can tell that he was originally more of a golden hue as the protected areas are somewhat darker than the exposed areas. One tiny surface loss on lower left paw pad. 1-10379 (3,000-4,000)
