RARE IVES BANDWAGON WITH FOUR HORSES. This is an extremely rare bandwagon, and as was once stated by Frank Whitson, “This toy is as rare as hen’s teeth!” Featuring a gilt painted carriage embossed with horses, eagles and lions on either side, the seats are of blue enamel with japanning to the interior, and riding along are eight musicians and a driver (five are of newer vintage). The wheels are painted yellow and all is pulled along by four large horses, two japanned, two silver, all with red highlights. Provenance Cametto Collection. SIZE: 31”.
