CASED ALLEN & WHEELOCK LIPFIRE REVOLVER. Cal. 36. SN 194. 5″ oct. bbl marked “ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER, MASS./ALLEN’S PAT’S. SEPT.7. NOV. 9. 1858.” on the left side. The mahogany case is lined with red velvet. CONDITION: About half of the blue remains on the bbl, traces on the frame and cylinder. All metal surfaces have scattered light pitting, slightly heavier on the hammer. Grips have about 60% flaking varnish, missing a tiny chip at the right toe. Mechanically fine. Case lid is cracked and repaired. Lining of the lid is replaced. All of the corners have been reglued. 4-57994 FS40 (2,000-3,000)
