FALLOWS CLOCKWORK “NEPTUNE” HORSEDRAWN FIRE PUMPER. Fallows mid-sized clockwork fire pumper came as a pull toy and this clockwork version. Fallows used their trademark “sawtooth” mane horses and arc quite striking painted in vibrant creamy yellow, with bright orange saddles and quick strokes of the artists brush for reins & eye details. Often the early toy makers used women for the fine artistic details. The driver sits precariously on top of the boiler with a footrest for his feet. The black steamchest has “Neptune” stenciled on each side, fine gold stenciling is seen on the orange boiler & japanned top orange stack and embossed japanned stack top. An orange & black step is added to the rear of the boiler. Pumper has a rear clockwork chassis that functions fine. SIZE: 15″. CONDITION: Fine plus and mechanism in functional condition.
