CARVED RHINOCEROS HORN OPIUM PIPE TOOL. Qianlong period (1735-1796), Qing Dynasty. The handle ornately carved in a dragon motif fitted with a copper collar joining a metal shaft, a bent miniature spoon at the tip. Purportedly used for the cleaning of an opium pipe. SIZE: 7-1/4″ overall; 4-1/4″ carving. CONDITION: Shows considerable age and wear from use, generally good. 9-24696 (8,000-12,000)
