LARGEST SIZE FALLOWS “EXPRESS” WAGON. Enormous Fallows “Express” wagon with a very unusual and seldom seen driver. Wagon of this gargantuan scale never come up for sale. Being such a large sized toy and fragile in construction, they didn’t last very long and never in such nice overall condition. A child could almost ride in this toy! The bold block letters stenciled in a decorative gold is still bright and crisp as is the orange painted sides of the wagon. A jaunty japanned gentleman sits atop the front bench seat and is soldered to a small seat with taps that fit into the slots of the bench seat, a very unusual feature. His dapper suit is brightly japanned, almost never seen this way. Atop his head is a nicely embossed black top hat. Overall a very unique driver for this express wagon. The wagon is pulled by two large Fallows running horses, raised on a two wheeled platform, painted brown with gold rein and saddle, fine line brush work, and splashes of orange paint for saddles. SIZE: 26-3/4″. CONDITION: Overall condition of this wagon is very good, especially for the size. Footrest and seat have amateur old repair/re-solder. Wheel supports also show old and amateur reattachment to body. Horses in very fine plus condition but reattachment to yoke wire and wheeled base. 1-10284 (3,000-5,000)
