FINE EARLY GEORGE BROWN CLOCKWORK AMERICAN TIN LOCOMOTIVE. A unique form with incredible coloring and paint stenciling to the tin. Boiler front painted in yellow, but having a different style stenciling applied to the front of the boiler, and to the cowcatcher as well! Normally the boiler front is painted wood. On this particular toy, it is painted tin and perhaps an indication that this was an earlier version and for cost effectiveness a wooden front was used in later versions. The iridescent blue boiler is pinstriped in yellow with a twisted wire holder for the bell. Engine cab itself is salmon colored with a multitude of fine stenciling to further the appeal of this toy. Funnel shaped wooden smokestack (replacement) echoes the early implementation of the actual train engine. SIZE: 8-1/2″ l. CONDITION: As stated above. Overall very good plus and working. 1-13639 (1,000-1,500)
