FEDERAL PILLAR AND SCROLL SETH THOMAS SHELF CLOCK. 1st quarter 19th century with original Seth Thomas paper label. The figural mahogany case with swan’s neck crest alternating with brass urn-form finials above the rectangular glass and eglomise panel door flanked by freestanding colonnettes. The painted wooden dial with Roman numeral chapter ring within floral gilt decorated spandrels. The case raised on slender tapering feet with a scalloped apron. The eglomise panel decorated with two ships engaged in a battle. This clock is being offered with original weights, winder, door key and pendulum. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h x 17-1/2″ w x 4-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Scrolled ears on crest later replacements. Glass and eglomise panels appear original. Some professional restoration to feet, movement not examined.
