IVES CLOCKWORK WALKING SANTA. Perhaps the most appealing and desirable of the various walking figures that Ives Blakeslee manufactured during the late 1800s time period and has a patent date of 1875 on the bottom of his foot. This jolly old fellow is in completely all original condition, including his backpack. Finely detailed painting to the cast lead head and brown felt clothing with white cotton firm trims. Clockwork mechanism is functional and in working order. SIZE: 9-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall all original with light soiling and minimal loss to clothing. Brown hood shows some uniform chipping paint loss, but not a distraction as facial painting is incredibly strong and virtually intact. 1-13628 (3,000-5,000)
