UNSIGNED (English, 19th Century) TWO WORKS: FAREWELL AND WELCOME HOME. Oil on metal genre scenes housed in identical antique gilt molded wood frames. The first shows a seven member family in an interior setting preparing for their two youngest boys to leave home. It is a fine room setting with piano, tea urn on a stand and covered floor. The second shows the return of the two boys in an exterior house setting with the mother having arm extended to the eldest boy who pets the family dog. SIZE: 22″ x 30″. CONDITION: Some surface scratches, dry surface with flaking, consolidated varnish. Good. 9-96823 (1,500-2,500)
