STURDITOY AMERICAN RAILWAY EXPRESS TRUCK. Once again, Sturditoy with this particular vehicle employed an odd, seldom found color. Not the same as the army truck in a previous lot, but more of a dark sea foam green. One would normally expect dark blue or red, which seems somewhat out of place. In remarkable condition, this screen sided Railway Express truck has two working doors at the rear. Also typical of Sturditoy, they have their front headlights with attached license plate (#402) as well as a nickel plated front bumper. For some reason, these storage trucks regardless of maker, always seem to have heavily worn roofs where children sat or stood on. This particular example is in exceptional condition and certainly one of the jewels of the collection. SIZE: 26″ l. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus. 1-13078 (2,000-3,000)
