JONAH AND THE WHALE MECHANICAL BANK. Attributed to Shepard Hardware, this appealing bank is based on the Biblical story in which Jonah, who is holding a coin, is being fed to the whale. When the bank is activated the whale’s bottom jaw flaps open and closed with his recent meal. The bank has a deep red base adorned with gold lettering and yellow supports & moldings. The top of the bank is a simulated ocean in sea green with an abundance of white highlighting. The boat is multi-colored and the whale is gray w/painted eyes and teeth. SIZE: 10-1/4″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 5″ h. CONDITION: The bank overall is in very good original condition with scattered paint chips and general wear and would benefit from a light cleaning.
