SECOR’S AMERICAN SONGSTER BIRD WITH ORIGINAL BOX. Secor Co. manufactured some incredible and highly desirable toys during its reign, including the famed Freeman’s mechanical bank! The ingenuity of this particular manufacturer allowed a small amount of water to be added to the bulb and by means of a rubber hose and the child blowing into the hose, the enameled brass bird would make a lifelike warbling sound while his tail feathers and beak fluttered. Although not a highly valuable toy the presence in its box makes the great go with for those who have other Secor toys. Complete excepting rubber hose which has hardened and deteriorated over the past 120+ years. SIZE: Box 8″ x 2″ x 1″. CONDITION: Overall painting to bird very good plus. Box is intact, but corners are loose. 1-13630 (350-550)
