ORNATE STERLING SILVER CENTER BOWL & UNDERPLATE, ROGER WILLIAMS SILVER CO. Circa 1901-1903 Roger Williams Silver Company, Providence, Rhode Island. This fine example decorated overall with pierced scrolling vinery and floral sprays bordered by “C” scrolls and pierced geometric cartouches. Footed center bowl with rolled everted rim, body pierced with scrolling leaf tips above floral garlands. Foot rim is pierce carved. Bowl is fitted with a silver plate liner. Center bowl is marked on the underside with the maker’s hallmark “WR”, the mark of the retailer “Bigelow Kennard & Co.”, the model number “7198” and “Sterling”. Underplate is similarly marked with the model number “87S”. Weight is 2,024gr total. SIZE: Center bowl is 8″ h x 11″ w. Underplate is 11-3/4″ dia. CONDITION: Center bowl with some minor and minimal creasing to pierce work on sides of bowl. Underplate with light surface scratches within brightwork at center of plate. Upper rim of plate interior with nicks and dents. Bottom of liner with 1″ deep scratch. 9-99009 (2,000-3,000)
