WILLIAM COLUMBUS EHRIG (American, 1892-1969) SUNLIT WAVES. Unsigned oil on canvas coastal scene shows waves crashing onto coastal ledges. Three seagulls are seen against a purple/gray sky. Light shines from the left onto the further waves. Housed in a modern gesso decorated antique style frame. Back of stretcher “To Louise Ehrig Kayll”. SIZE: 25″ x 30″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Dorothea Souza, Medford, Massachusetts. CONDITION: Very good with some light scrapes along a previous frame edge on left and bottom. 9-94522 (1,500-2,500)
