WILLIAM COLUMBUS EHRIG (American, 1892-1969) BIG SURF. Unsigned oil on canvas coastal scene shows a large wave crashing onto coastal ledge rock. Three seagulls are seen under cloud and light sky. The wave is in a turquoise color with white crest. Housed in a decorated wood frame with white liner. Artist inventory #204 on reverse. SIZE: 24″ x 30″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Dorothea Souze, Medford, Massachusetts. CONDITION: Very good with center bottom having two paint losses, probably due to frame edge wear. 9-94524 (1,500-2,500)
