DIMINUTIVE FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY WRITING TABLE. This fine example, probably mid-19th -century New York. The rectangular crossbanded top above a conforming case fitted with a long drawer above an arched opening and flanked by two banks of two short drawers opposing conforming simulated drawers, all with cockbeaded edges raised on a trestle-base joined by a ring-turned cylindrical stretcher, the whole raised on downswept saber legs fitted with brass ferrules and casters. The crossbanded and drawer fronts of figured maple veneers. SIZE: 31-1/4″ h x 35-1/4″ w x 20″ d. CONDITION: Professionally repolished with good rich color. 9-20073 (1,500-2,500)
