STRAUSS PARCEL POST VAN AND YELLOW RACER. An exceptional all original parcel post/special delivery van manufactured by Strauss Mechanical Toys. Various companies produces similar vans, some advertising a product or store name. This particular van is generic, but in remarkable original condition. Rear opening door is intact, burnt orange lithography is vibrant as is black and yellow highlighting. Black roof is intact with a few scattered paint chips. The simulated balloon tires are in excellent condition showing little or no wear to high points. Being sold with a yellow race car that is similar in nature to the Lionel race cars. Duplicating the hand crank so common to early vehicles actually winds the spring that allows the rear wheels to propel the car forward. Quite tinny in construction with a driver and a nickel plated radiator front along with a spare attached to the boat tail of the car, this car has a lot of appeal. Lithographed in vibrant yellow with an abundance of black pinstriping and deep red spoked tin tires. SIZE: 9-1/2″ l and 9″ l, respectively. CONDITION: Overall both pieces are very fine all original untouched condition. Slight shelf dustiness to both vehicles. 1-12500 (800-1,200)
