CHINESE CARVED ELM SIDEBOARD. 19th century. The rectangular paneled top applied with rolled ends above the conforming paneled and mortised case fitted with three aligned drawers above a central pair of cabinet doors, the cabinet ends fitted with flanges or “wings”, each nicely foliate carved. SIZE: 36″ overall h. x 33-3/4″ h. of working surface x 86″ overall l. x 19-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Cabinet retains all original surfaces and hardware, with dark patina and craquelure. Top working surface with losses to finish, in need of cleaning and repolishing, some shrinkage cracks noted. Ends of feet with some deterioration due to old moisture damage. 9-99277 (1,500-2,500)
