FIVE FRAMED MINIATURE PORTRAITS OF WOMEN. The lot consists of: 1) A 3-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ miniature oval portrait of a woman, signed illegibly on right side. Housed in a good brass rectangular frame. 2) A 2-3/4″ x 2-1/2″ miniature on ivory of a woman signed “SAINTEL”. Housed in a brass hand mirror (some loss to mirror backing and loose in mirror frame). 3) A 2-1/2″ x 2″ miniature on ivory of a woman signed “E. MELOCCHI” identified on reverse “COUNTESS PAOLINA BORGHESE”. 4) A 2-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ miniature signed “STIELER”. 5) A 1-1/4″ x 1″ small miniature of a woman with blonde hair and red dress. Unsigned. The locket marked “.800”. SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29325 (500-700)
