TWO SIDED ROBERT SPRING SCRIMSHAW TOOTH OF WHALING SCENE. 1978. Depicting whalers in dory harpooning a whale with two whaling ships in background. Reverse scrimmed with portrait of baleen whale. All done in tones of gray, brown and green. Inscribed with maker’s name “R. Spring 78”. NOTE: Robert Spring’s work is included in the permanent collections of both the Mystic Seaport Museum and the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine. Robert has participated in many invitational exhibitions, as well as one man and group shows all over New England. SIZE: 7-1/4″ l. CONDITION: Very good with nice patina. 9-22425 (1,500-2,500)
