THRIFTY TOM MECHANICAL BANK WITH COON JIGGER PENNY TOY. A desirable wind up black jigger toy that appeals not only to bank collectors, toy collectors and collectors of black memorabilia. Dropping a coin in the slot, the lithographed black man does a jig about the stage. Manufactured by “The Ferdinand Strauss Corp” during the 1920s and visually attractive lithography add to the appeal of this item. A trap door on the side allows the child to gather his savings. Toy overall is in very good original condition with some wear, most notable to edges of platform and where arms rub against side of body on figure. 2) Scarce windup German penny toy depicting a Black jigger dancing on a platform. Figure is just 2-1/2″ tall. SIZE: Strauss is 10-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Both toys are very good plus and working. 1-13278 (550-850)
