GENCO OFFICIAL BASEBALL PINBALL MACHINE. For the baseball collector as well as the coin-op collector, this vintage 1920s baseball game is a must have. Until one plays this game, it is hard to understand the ingenuity involved in the design and function of this “pinball” machine. A nickel is deposited and the play starts. A pinball type plunger launches the ball onto the play field. Perhaps it will fall into the “out” or the “home run” or the “foul ball” or the “one base hit”? The ingenuity involved is displayed when first a single base hit is made and the ball is stopped by a series of wires. On the next launch, if a double is made, the ball from the previous attempt advances to third base. If on the third attempt, another double is made, the first ball; originally on first, then moving over to third then scores a run and the second ball which is on second base also advances to home and scores a run. Completely mechanical and a very complicated mechanism. Once three outs have been made, the game is over and no more balls are up for bat. Lithographed play field showing banners, catcher, batter etc are original and in exceptional condition. Center section displays a cast aluminum batter. Just a great machine to play and one could spend hours competing with friends. SIZE: 41″ t x approx. 39″ l x approx. 17″ w. CONDITION: Machine has been externally restored. Front wooden door has been remade. Lacking a couple of pins and play field. 1-9518 (1,000-2,000)
