POLYCHROME DECORATED TERRACOTTA TOMB FIGURE. Chinese, T’ang style. Standing figure of a Lokapala or Buddhist guardian figure wearing the headdress of an exotic bird and rendered on a rockwork plinth. Large areas of pigment still adhering. SIZE: 33″ h. PROVENANCE: From a private East Coast collection. CONDITION: With repairs to proper left hand. Object appears to be missing from proper right hand.
