SCARCE MAINE FOWLING PIECE. NSN. Cal. 12 ga., 40-7/8” round bbl, marked “J. W. SAWYER / PORTLAND / 55” on top. The drum also has the same number. CONDITION: Rust brown patina overall with a cleaned area around the marking. There is a small chip missing at the toe and a small crack at the lock screw. There is a heavy bruise on the left side of the bbl. This was applied when the bbl was out of the stock as the stock is unmarked. The nipple is flattened, but the lock is good. 4-47860 FS73 (150-300)
