AUTOPERIPATETIKOS WITH CHINA HEAD. A fine early clockwork toy/doll often times these toys came with a variety of different heads including china, parian, papier mache. This particular version features a shoulder head china with a molded braid encompassing her head. Clockwork mechanism is contained within a cone shaped body and when mechanism is wound the brass feet give a simulated walking motion propelling the doll forward. Doll is intact and in working order containing original undergarment, however exterior clothing has been replaced at some time. SIZE: 9-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Mechanism is somewhat sluggish, most likely in need of light lubrication. 1-11663 (400-600)
