FINE GERMAN PORCELAIN SHELF CLOCK. Last quarter 19th century. This nice example in the manner of Meissen depicting a woman leaning upon a clock on pedestal. The whole applied with floral bouquets and garlands. The woman dressed in rich flowing robes decorated overall with polychrome floral sprays. the clock with French brass movement striking on a bell, the enamel dial with Roman numeral chapter ring. The whole raised on a conforming plinth decorated with floral sprays and simulated marble surfaces with front panel paint decorated with river scene. Raised on claw feet. the rear of the clock with a variation of crossed swords marks in underglaze blue. SIZE: 30″ h x 18-3/4″ w overall x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Generally very good with small areas of restoration to feet and to some flower petals. 9-90055 (2,500-4,500)
