PURITAN BABY VENDOR & EARLY ENGLISH VENDING MACHINE. 1) Elaborately cast aluminum trade stimulator, circa 1920s allowing the prospective player to deposit penny, nickel, dime or quarter gamble towards service, product or cash payout from the merchant. Machine is all original and intact with exception of gum vending mechanism. Mechanism is functional, 3″ section of reel strip is missing from third wheel. 2) A vintage circa 1910/1920 English wooden vending machine manufactured for The Hyde-Simplex Co. Ltd. More than likely this unit vended some sort of small stick product (gum, breath mints) and was dispensed through the front door and the product was clearly visible through the front panel of glass. Simplistic in nature, yet quite charming, machine appears to be in as found, untouched original condition. SIZE: 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ x 10-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ x 23″ respectively. CONDITION: 1) Some oxidation to aluminum castings, otherwise refer to above description. 2) Lacking keys. Age shrinkage/cracks to rear wooden panel, otherwise refer to above description. 1-9555 (750-950)
